Criteria for circular cities using the example of Berlin Adlershof business park

Creative Climate Cities, 2024

The “Tech and Spaces for Circular Economy” project explores the potential of innovative technologies and spatial concepts to accelerate and implement a circular economy in Berlin and other regions.

Starting from Berlin's leading future location “Adlershof”, players in the fields of optics, photonics and materials science (OPM) are networked and will be matched. The aim is to identify new areas of application for OPM technologies in order to promote them as drivers for circular practices in various sectors and industries.

In collaboration with Circular City - Zirkuläre Stadt e.V. (Circular Berlin) and WISTA Management GmbH, Creative Climate Cities hosts co-creation and capacity building events to strengthen new collaborations along the value chain of relevant stakeholders. As a result, Creative Climate Cities is developing recommendations for the spatial design of business parks that promote the circular economy.

The project is funded by the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises as part of the implementation of the Master Plan Industrial City Berlin 2022 - 2026 (MPI).
