Interactive Exhibition – Making Smart Cities Visible

Interactive Exhibition for Information and Participation – Making Smart Cities Visible

How can smart city projects be presented in a way that is understandable, visible and accessible? Our modular and interactive exhibition design accomplishes precisely that: it is a flexible format for education, participation and dialogue in public spaces. It provides municipalities with a tool for communicating complex smart city content in an understandable way and for actively involving the urban community.

Creative Climate Cities developed together with designer Dominik Berton a sustainable and flexible exhibition design. The exhibition elements consist of wooden modules that can be individually assembled depending on the spatial conditions. Thanks to integrated magnetic surfaces, posters, visualisations or analogue and digital content can be attached quickly and flexibly. The design is robust, transportable and versatile – it can be used in town halls, neighbourhoods, at trade fairs or festivals. CCC curates the content, designs the visuals and develops interactive communication formats that make digital urban development understandable. The exhibition combines live demonstrations and immersive elements with municipal practice, always with the aim of enabling participation and strengthening trust in digital solutions.

The exhibition system was first presented at the National Congress of Model Projects Smart Cities (MPSC) 2023 in Leipzig. In the analogue showroom, visitors could explore a wide range of digital solutions, including an energy atlas, a VR application and an urban digital twin. The exhibition system was also used at the Silbersalz Festival 2024 in Halle (Saale) as part of the opening of the ‘Smart City Education Centre’. The aim was to directly address young target groups.
