Living Lab “100 Meter Zukunft”
“100m Zukunft” - a living lab for urban innovation in Berlin

Berlin is full of smart ideas for the city of tomorrow, developed by start-ups, companies, and committed stakeholders. Yet, these innovations often get implemented in other cities first. That’s about to change with a living lab right on the doorstep of the Berlin Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK Berlin): urban solutions will become visible and tested where they are developed – in the heart of the capital.
Creative Climate Cities is responsible for designing the challenge process and implementing the first pilot. With our expertise in co-creation and urban living labs, we are creating a transferable model that offers municipalities and companies a proven path for innovation processes. To do this, we are building an innovation network that connects start-ups, established companies, and initiatives. At the heart of the process is a matchmaking format – a workshop in which we bring together solution providers with established businesses and with one another. This cross-innovation approach leads to holistic solutions, such as combining digital tools with physical infrastructure in urban spaces.
Our methods make it possible to apply the outcomes from Berlin to other cities and regions, thereby developing sustainable, scalable solutions for urban areas.
By November 2026, the living lab “100m Zukunft”will be established, providing a space where solutions are tested directly in the urban environment. A pilot challenge-process aligns specific public space needs with fitting innovations. The initiative launches on the premises of the IHK Berlin and Fasanenstraße, with the aim of expanding these solutions to additional streets and cities over time. A suitable organizational structure for the lab’s long-term operation is being developed through a participatory approach. The project is being implemented in close collaboration with Belius, Multiplicities and Paper Planes.
