Tech and Spaces

How can we use TECH & SPACES to support circular economy systems?

Tech and Spaces for Circular Economy – Criteria for circular cities using the example of Berlin Adlershof business park

How can we use innovative (cutting-edge) technologies and spatial approaches to help build a circular economy? This question is the focus of the Tech and Spaces for Circular Economy project, using the future-oriented location of Berlin Adlershof as an example.
Since 2024, Creative Climate Cities has been supporting the implementation of the project together with Circular City – Zirkuläre Stadt e.V. (Circular Berlin) and WISTA Management GmbH. Tech and Spaces is part of the Berlin Industrial City Master Plan 2022–2026 and is funded by the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Energy, and Public Enterprises.
Creative Climate Cities organizes multi-stakeholder workshops based on the key question: “How can spaces, resources, and high-tech be shared and operated at innovation locations?” In doing so, we identify potential applications for circular practices and strengthen cross-sector exchange.
In addition, we develop recommendations for the spatial design of circular technology parks with a focus on networking, space efficiency, and innovation capacity. We publish concrete recommendations for action to establish circular economic practices in technology parks.
