Creative Climate Cities, 2022
The Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Building (BMWSB) is funding model projects for smart cities as part of its participatory conceptualization and testing of smart city approaches.
The Smart City Halle initially relates its project to individual city quarters and their interconnection through mobility offers and knowledge flows. For the time being, the focus is on the east of Halle as a "smart business district" and the west of Halle as an "education district", which are considered to be the starting points for urban development. In addition, citizens are to be involved in the planning and implementation of the project as smart city makers in the long term.
In cooperation with Prognos AG, Creative Climate Cities supports the process of developing measures for the clusters administration, education, economy and mobility, aiming towards a successful and interlinked Smart City Strategy, which acts as a main tool during the implementation phase. In doing so, we use the creative power of co-creative approaches and design sprints.
The end result is a Smart City Strategy, which is a plan for the successful implementation including the vision, guiding principles and measures, being developed in cooperation with the actors of the urban society.
